Prof. Gülen Hatemi is a Professor of Medicine in Istanbul University – Cerrahpasa, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Rheumatology and Behçet’s Syndrome Research Center.

Her research area is Behçet’s syndrome and other vasculitides. She mainly focuses on drug trials and outcome measure development, as well studies on the pathophysiology and life impact of Behçet’s syndrome.

She was the convenor of the EULAR Recommendations for the management of Behçet’s syndrome, and is currently the convenor of the Disease Assessment Study Group of the International Society for Behçet’s Disease and is co-chairs the OMERACT Behçet’s Syndrome working group.
