Professor Dr. Mustafa Al Izzi is a distinguished rheumatologist with over four decades of medical experience. He earned his MBChB from the University of Baghdad in 1974, followed by MRCP (UK) in 1982 and FRCP (Edinburgh) in 2000.

He previously served as Chief of Rheumatology at Zayed Military Hospital (2008–2011) and Mafraq Hospital (2003–2008), and as Professor of Rheumatology at the University of Baghdad (1989–2002). Dr. Al Izzi also chaired the UAE Rheumatologists Club (2004–2008) and co-founded the Emirates Osteoporosis Society (EOS), where he later served as President.

With over 24 publications and editorial roles in several medical journals, Dr. Al Izzi is a respected contributor to regional and international rheumatology and osteoporosis research. In 2023, he was named Rheumatologist of the Year by the DHA Health Awards for his leading role in developing the UAE/EOS Osteoporosis Guidelines.
